About Us

G.I.R.L. is an IRS approved 501(C)(3) non-profit organization. Founded under the principle, "it takes a village," G.I.R.L. strongly believes in the forward progress of the community. We offer sessions and activities in developing girls to women that will last a lifetime. 

Our Mission

Our mission is to enhance and develop life skills for girls and young adults through curriculum-based interactive programs that include financial literacy, leadership, decision making, goal setting, self empowerment, ACT prep, college/job readiness, health and wellness and community involvement.

Our Vision

To create a diverse synergy of life skills and expectations for our young ladies of tomorrow.

We Value

G.I.R.L. will enforce the empowerment and the development of young ladies to respectable women and beyond.

The Founders of G.I.R.L.:

Have worked with the Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri School districts offering aid to students in need.

Have worked with Truman Medical Center incorporating financial education within the Teen Mom's program.

Help with people in need through providing food, time and talent to the Artist Helping the Homeless program
(www.artistshelpingthehomeless.org).
 
Have worked with various universities, including:

Harvard University, Stanford University, Case Western University, University of Toronto, and the National Bureau of Economic Research through integrating the student aid document within the tax process.
 
Collaborated with the University of Missouri teaching and educating the community on the importance of financial education (http://extension.missouri.edu/)

Collaborated with the 100 Black Men of Kansas City to encourage the positive development of youth and the community (www.100blackmenkc.com).

Partnered with the Urban League of Greater Kansas City, expanding our reach in the community (www.ulkc.org).
